Take Action To Save Animals

The extent of cruelty that animals are subjected to, each day around the world, is appalling.
How is it possible that this kind of suffering is allowed to go on?
You wonder how people see nothing wrong, and actually participate in, the skinning of live animals, hearing their
screams.

Watching laying hens crammed into cages so small they're feather pecked to death by cagemates.
How do zoo owners and workers watch, as animals kept in solitary confinement rock back and forth, or pace
incessantly, displaying stereotypical behaviors as they slowly go insane.
There are lawmakers who, with a stroke of a pen, can end suffering. Law enforcement officers who could enforce laws
in existence, and the courts who have it within their power to punish the violators.
And yet, here we are, and nothing changes.
Don't you ever wonder how people, part of what are purported to be civilized societies, can look at themselves in the
mirror while this goes on?
Many think the problems are so great they couldn't possibly make a difference as an individual. Did you know that one
voice, added onto another, makes more than one voice? And that becomes a scream.
There are many ways that each one of us can make a difference:
*buy products not tested on animals. Although it is true they are not as widely available, your local chain stores and
pharmacies do carry them.
*Why not drop a note to the company you are no longer buying from, and let them know it's because they continue to test
their products on animals. When enough people do this and they notice a drop in sales, it will have an impact.
*buy organic. Although the standards in some countries are not as high as others, it is a start, and you will be sending a
message that you care about the conditions of animals raised for food.
*buy free range/cage free eggs
*Don't buy anything with fur. The excuse that only fur coats are warm is nonsense. People climbing mountains in frigid
weather don't freeze, and it's not because they wear fur
*don't go to zoos or circuses, and discourage others from going as well. You want your kids to learn about animals?
Take them to a sanctuary where they've rescued animals and teach them why they should be in their own habitats.
Little things that each of us can do, will make a big difference in the lives of animals that suffer every day at the hands of
humans.
A little compassion will make the world a kinder place.
