Avoid having a messy home by choosing to coach your new puppy using the right approach. Here are steps towards having a successful puppy potty training class.

One of the keys for a successful training lesson is introducing the pup to the family and the areas it is supposed to explore. During the first day at the new place, it might be nervous or joyful. It is good you create a relationship with the pet so that it can learn to respect everyone in the house. In addition, show the pup only the areas he or she is allowed to roam. Do not allow the pup in areas that are off limit.

The next important thing to do is understand the particular breed you have purchased. Breeds are different and each of them has varying behaviors and needs. Those with small bladders will need to urinate often than those with large ones. Others are first at learning commands but others take time. With the knowledge of these behaviors, training will get to be easy since you will be willing to understand various clues they use to show they want to go outside.

House training lessons will be successful if you understand various signs and then pick a toilet zone so that when you recognize any of the signs, you can have a specific area to take the dog. If the dog is not vaccinated more than three times, do not pick a zone that will be shared by other pups. Get an area that is accessible and easy to clean since from time to time you will be required to clear the place to keep it clean.

Dogs are very intelligent and can understand specific sounds and commands. To make potty training class a walk in the park, choose specific sounds or commands that you will be using. The commands should be to guide the pup on when and where to pee or defecate. Intelligent pups with recognize these words after a few times of the owner using them.

Because accidents might occur inside the house, clean up the mess quickly. Make sure you use solutions or detergents that will help get rid of the urine smell or other odor that might attract the dog to using the area spot again as a potty.

If you allow the puppy a large area to explore, most of the time you will not be monitoring what the pooch is doing. Keep it on a short leash or a small room. Remember not to limit the space too much to the extent of preventing it from playing or stretching.

In conclusion, be consistent in what you do. Always use the same door when taking the pet outside. Do not change the command and the toilet spot to make it a routine. In the process, you will learn how often the dog needs to go out and then come up with a schedule.
