With A Veterinarian Surprise AZ Animals Remain In Good Health

By Raymond Edwards

Ever since human kind has made its first appearance on the face of the earth, his survival depended upon animals. At first they were good for eating, shelter and clothing only, but to this day humans depend upon animals for food like eggs and milk, products such as wool and hides and even companionship. Animals are used for transport and to perform many other tasks. Without an attending veterinarian Surprise AZ animals will not be able to survive.

The greed and selfishness of mankind has seen to it that animals are no longer able to fend for themselves. Their natural habitats have been destroyed and invaded. Even wildlife have to be satisfied with being confined to fenced parks and limited choices. Because man is responsible for this situation, he has to take responsibility for the care of all animals. In this regard the help of vets is very important.

In many ways it is more complex practising as a vet than it is to practise as a medical doctor. Doctors only have to deal with one species but vets have to master all the unique differences between numerous different species of animals. Providing medical care is not all that vets do, however. They also provide advice on the correct diet and other requirements of animals.

Prudent people will obtain advice from a vet before they purchase any animal. Whether the animal is meant for breeding purposes, destined to be a pet or meant to become a working animal, vets can make sure that the animal in question is healthy and suitable for the task that is intended for it. He van also make sure that the environment where the animal will be kept is suitable for that type of animal.

It is a great pity that so many people will only call in a vet when their animals are seriously injured or very badly ill. Animals often suffer pain without communicating their suffering. Some even hide away. Regular checks by the vet will help to identify potential problems quickly. In the long run, this is not only more humane, but also cheaper.

Because there are so many differences between the organs, needs and diseases affecting different species, most vets prefer to specialize. It is virtually impossible to remain updated about all the diseases relevant to all the different species and the treatment methods for those diseases. It follows, therefore, that people that own different species of animals, say dogs and birds, for example, need to see two different vets.

Far too many animals are abandoned or mistreated because they were acquired or rescued when they were small, cute and cuddly. When the grow up, they stop being cute and cuddly and they can even become problem animals because their living environments are unsuitable for their breeds. The golden rule is to never get a pet for the wrong reasons and to never give a pet to someone as a surprise.

Animals have a raw deal all around. Millions of them are forced to live miserable lives and more millions eke out their very short lives in factory farms where production is king. Mankind has a responsibility towards all animals. Vets can help them in many different ways.
