Not all dogs have to be purebred to be excellent for what you want in a pet. This is true for double doodle puppies for sale. There are just a few precautions to look out for, but so far as the breed goes, they are kind, gentle, obedient, and lovable, making them excellent pets. It is just important to investigate and to study the problems that might ensue when owning any puppy. Know what you are getting into.

The double doodle is a mixture in some form of three different purebred dogs. These breeds are the Golden Retriever, Labrador Retriever, and the Poodle. The parents of a double doodle are the Goldendoodle or Labradoodle. The puppy, though given different designations, is a very lovely and appealing dog.

It is not always a 50% cross in breeding the double doodle. There may be any combination of 1/4 to 1/2 mix. The temperament varies with the percentage of breeds involved. The percentage of breed determines the characteristics the offspring probably will have. This makes it vital to know the percentage of each breed and the characteristics of the one that is prominent.

Temperament in a dog is an important consideration. The best way to determine what your puppy may have, since his temperament is not well-developed yet, is to study the characteristics of the breeds from which he comes. It is also important to see the parents, if possible and see what their temperaments are.

Since some of the traits of the breeds used to parent this dog, it is a good idea to understand what they are and which breed is predominant in the parentage. Poodles and Labradors require lots of attention. If you aren't willing to give this amount of attention, don't choose this dog. In either case, choose one with a higher concentration of Golden Retriever.

The poodle part of the mix is one reason this breed might not be suitable where children are concerned. Poodles are demanding, and want to be the most recognized. They often see children as litter mates that demand this same attention. They will bite and wrestle with the child, which is not ideal. Also, Labradoodles and poodles alike demand attention, and if not given it, their demands and yapping often get very annoying.

Some unscrupulous dog breeders will misrepresent the facts. You must be careful of this. They will sometimes be untruthful about the heritage of the dog you are considering, and the conditions of breeding and raising it. When a single breed becomes popular, these breeders with be untruthful about these things for profit reasons. They may produce a puppy mill for these breeds. If you are looking at one, be sure and check these things out.

You rarely find a double doodle in a rescue shelter. These are used when the owner decides to give the puppy up for some reason or another. Sometimes it is just a matter of someone who shouldn't even have a dog. But, many times it is the result of someone being misled about the dog in question and they are so dissatisfied with it they decide not to keep it. That is why it is so important to investigate fully before getting a puppy.
