Taking Care Of Poodle Puppies

By Ryan Peterson

There are so many dog breeds out there and you have to agree that poodle is one of the most adorable amongst the bunch. It looks like some stuffed toy because of how unique their appearance is. They have also this fur that makes them look extra fluffy, having just one glance at them would automatically makes you want to look for standard poodle breeder to own one.

This breed is generally an energetic kind even though they are young and still small puppies. But, you could not see that right away at the beginning since they can be real scared if they are new to something. Though, once they feel comfortable and happy with their new home, you would know just how energetic and cute they can be.

However, you should know that taking care of them is not mostly the same like the other pups out there. Yes, it is easy to have them taken care of since they normally are smart and easy to control but it does not mean you do not have to make efforts. You have to remember their needs like foods that are of high quality, regular grooming, their need of exercise as well as training.

When you say food, you just could not give them anything since they are highly sensitive to that. They could not eat something with corn, wheat and soy in it because that surely would trigger some conditions they are prone of having such as skin irritation and bloat. You have to be very careful with the quality of food you choose for them.

In addition to that, they need carbohydrates as well because that will be the source of their energy. But, do not choose anything that has wheat, soy or corn in it. They are highly sensitive to that and consuming foods with such ingredients can trigger their bloat and even skin irritation.

For their potty training, you can just use leash to have them get used to the activity. These should be not that hard as well since they are highly smart and are easy to even train. All you have to do is put them in leash and take them outdoors. With that, they will eventually remember where to go when there is a need to pee or poop.

You should take them in a same spot outside as much as possible until it becomes their habit to go directly in there when there is a need to. All it takes is just consistency of taking them out early in the morning, in the afternoon, after they are fed and right before you put them to sleep at night.

Then grooming is pretty much the most challenging out of everything since their fur grows so easily and it gets in tangled often. With that, you will need patience to regularly brush their hair to prevent tangles from happening. Their hair also could cover their nose, mouth and ears in no time so it needs constant trimming.

You also should clean their ears every now and then to prevent infection. Or to make things simpler for you, have them serviced through the assistance of professional groomer. You should also not forget about their toys because they want to chew on stuff, besides that could help them exercise their minds.
