Milk production is dependent on several different factors, which include type and quality of feed, number of times the goat has given birth, genetics, and general food management.

One can manage their flock in a way that they have a constant supply of milk the whole year round. This is made possible by the fact that these animals are capable of breeding the whole year round. That means that the does can become receptive at any time of the year. The content of butterfat in the milk produced by these goats is higher in comparison to milk from other bigger breeds.

The general temperament of this animal is gentle and intelligent. The colorful coats combined with their gentle characteristic render this breed a good pet. Some people usually increase the bond between kids and their human owners by bottle-feeding them. However, others prefer to leave the task to the does because bottle-fed kids tend to be noisy and clingy.
