By Alvin Plymouth

A lot of people around the world have pet/s. They can be any animal; monkeys, porcupines, dogs, cats, parrots, parakeets, elephants, pandas, skunks, frogs, snakes, crabs, fish anything can be a pet. Whether you see someone with a Labrador or someone with a parrot that chirps sassy quotes, a lot of people have a pet. Doesn't it pop a question in your head: why do pets make people smile? What is it about pets that make people grin with happiness? What is about these creatures that give people that energy they need?

Pets keep their owners in company. Even if the owner had a fight with her boyfriend or a family is having a bad day, pets are always there to keep them company. The pets may not know what's going on but hey, they want to be there for them and that's what makes people smile. They'll stick with them 'till the very end. The last reason pets make people smile? They're lifelong companions. They'll stick with their owners until the day they die. Isn't that wonderful?

When I was about to leave for the city, I said my goodbyes to grandma and her trio of dogs. I pet all three of them and then I boarded the car. As I looked out my car window, I saw my grandma with her three dogs looking out towards me as my family and I drove towards the road that would lead us back home. You know, whenever I remember that visit, I always smile knowing my grandma got a weird but enjoyable bunch. I hope I can see those three dogs again.
